Self Care: The gentle way to health
In our fast moving society we tend to look for immediate solutions, whether it's fast foods, fast cars or disposable nappies.
Unfortunately, in dealing with our health we also tend to look for immediate and fast solutions. While these may seem to 'get us back on our feet' quickly, they often mask the symptoms and ignore root causes. The reality is, natural methods often work better and quicker, with more permanent results, even though they may involve more hard work in the beginning.
At the Littlejohn Centre we believe that treating the root cause leads to a more permanent solution. We believe that, by helping you to understand the root cause of your problem, you are in a better position to undertake the most effective treatment.
'Self Care' means being able to play a full part in the partnership between practitioner, patient and nature. We believe the practitioner's role is to provide gentle care that respects the patient.
Nature will always do her job if we provide the right conditions, including good food, fresh air, emotional well-being, less stress and keeping the body in good mechanical order. We believe these environmental factors are the most powerful tools for maintaining health.
If you, as the patient understand the root cause, you can take the steps to eliminate any habits and patterns whether involving diet, posture or emotions that have contributed to your current problems and symptoms. |
