Yoga for Health & Beauty

With a regular Yoga practice, you will find it easier to reach a deeper state of relaxation. Hence, you will naturally sleep better, reduce your stress levels and feel calmer.

Yoga can help you to achieve a level of weight that you are happy with if you learn to balance relaxation with stretches, cardiovascular exercises and a healthy diet. Yoga can also help you to achieve more positive body awareness and acceptance of your own strengths and individual beauty. With Yoga in your life, you will learn to shine from within, and this glow can radiate outwards into the rest of your life, helping you to go with the flow and achieve your goals with greater ease and a higher level of satisfaction.

Biography of Yoga Instructor.

Sarah O'Connor has a lifelong interest in both Yoga and Massage. From an early age Sarah could be found copying her mother’s yoga moves and listening intently to discussions on philosophy.

Sarah started taking evening classes in both Yoga and Massage while taking her degree course in English Literature and History at NUI Maynooth. She continued to take night classes in Yoga while working in a local newspaper in Leixlip and her interest in herbs, nutrition, holistic medicine and self healing developed through initiation into Reiki over seven years ago.

Eventually Yoga called, and Sarah graduated as a Yoga teacher from the YTTC Dublin in July 2005.

Training in Indian Head Massage encouraged Sarah to continue to develop her interest in this field and since then she has expanded her interest to include Infant Massage and the School’s Peer Massage Programme. These have all had their influence, giving Sarah’s teaching a delicate and gentle approach. Her classes are both relaxing and relaxed, giving them an open feeling, welcoming to students of all abilities from complete novice to more advanced Yogis and Yoginis.

While attending a workshop with Donna Fahri in Dublin several moons ago Sarah met Lisa Petersen who invited her to a beautiful Yoga holiday in Portugal and introduced her to the concept of Somatics. Sarah continues to take workshops and classes with Lisa & Donna as well as exploring other avenues of Yoga whenever possible.

Sarah’s classes in the Littlejohn Centre take place in the comfort of the large classroom, warm, carpeted and cosy. The classes are very much focused on breath and body synchronicity, meditation, both moving and still, and an enjoyment of the lighter side of Yoga. She hopes that the classes encourage her students to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing; posture and poise, as well as underlying and underpinning a regular home practice.
